Plate beamsplitters-general-purpose grade (λ/4)
These
General-purpose Beamsplitters are considerably lighter
and cheaper than traditional cube beamsplitters. And
avoid problems with stray back reflected light from
entry and exit faces. These General-purpose Beamsplitters
are available for use in Visible and Infrared wavelengths.
General-purpose grade Beamsplitters are also available
in 50/50 or 70/30 ratios.
These General-purpose Beamsplitters have ion-plated
dielectric multilayer coatings giving excellent durability
and neutrality and are much less affected by temperature
changes than ordinary coatings. The back of the Beamsplitters
are multilayer AR coated to almost eliminate the spurious
reflection. They come in two thicknesses, 1mm for compactness,
and 3mm thick float glass, which is less fragile. B270
glass is used for the IR-range to avoid the strong
IR absorption of float glass. Typical usage is in laser
applications.
