Optical Flats
These
high quality flat substrates are made from tree types
of material, Zerodur, fused silica and LEGB. These Optical
Flats can be used for interferometry i.e. checking the
flatness of other surfaces from interference fringes
(Newton's rings) which are seen when the surfaces are
in contact, in monochromatic light. They can be used
for high quality laser mirrors.
